Discover the underwater world—no experience needed! Try SDI or NAUI!
Service Description
SDI Scuba Discover or NAUI Scuba Discovery The SDI Scuba Discover or NAUI Intro to Scuba programs are introductory scuba diving experiences designed for beginners. These programs provide participants with the excitement of diving in a safe, controlled environment without the need for prior experience or certification. Program Highlights Classroom Orientation: The session begins with a short briefing led by a certified instructor, covering essential scuba concepts, equipment, safety guidelines, and underwater communication signals. This part is essential to ensure participants feel confident and prepared. Pool Session: In a shallow pool, participants practice basic skills, such as breathing through a regulator, clearing water from their mask, and equalizing pressure, all under close supervision. Instructors guide each participant, ensuring they feel comfortable and secure with the equipment and underwater environment. Optional Open Water Dive: For those interested in extending their experience, many programs offer a shallow open water dive (usually up to 40 feet/12 meters). Here, participants can explore underwater life and enjoy the thrill of real scuba diving in a natural setting. (Additional Costs Apply) Key Benefits Hands-On Experience: Participants learn the fundamentals of diving firsthand. No Certification Required: This program is purely experiential and requires no certification, making it perfect for first-timers. Foundation for Future Training: For those who enjoy the experience, it provides an excellent stepping stone to further scuba training, such as an Open Water Diver course. Who Can Join? Anyone in good health, typically aged 18 and up (10 with parental consent), can participate in the SDI Scuba Discover or NAUI Scuba Discovery programs. Required Equipment Students must bring mask, fins and snorkel. These can be purchased at the facility that is used. All other equipment is provided (e.g. BCD, scuba tanks, weights, regulators). Students should bring a swimsuit, towel and change of clothers.
